More and more companies are starting to take part in the world of Social Media with accounts on Twitter, Facebook , YouTube and blogs. Although this is increasing their visibility and reach it creates a new challenge of how to manage employees in such a manner that they share their ideas in a constructed way that will be positive for the company.
Everybody is very quick to jump on the bandwagon of Social Media but it’s important to establish clear goals for engagement and a formal policy or guideline to govern these online activities.

It’s not a matter of setting out brand- new guidelines and instructions to employees but rather companies need to see this more as an extension of the ways they are already representing the company and therefore it also requires that they need to be mindful of proper behavior.

The main idea of a Social Media policy is that it reminds people about confidentiality and proper communication with customers or others online.
