All you need to know about RSS (Real Simple Syndication)
One of the new functions on the system is the RSS feed for raw hits, this is in addition to the results RSS feed.
This came from the fact that we noticed that from time to time, a daily email either in the morning or in the evening (or both) with the results on your account or client account is not enough.
These daily emails are provided as a summary of your account for that day.
It is however, often a requirement of clients to be aware of and receive the mentions as they come in, either in raw hits or in results, without having to log in to your account(s).
That is why there is the option to set up RSS feeds, both for users on the system as well as subscribers to the daily results and raw hits emails:
Real-time Raw Hits mention feeds:
We offer RSS feeds from the raw hits section of our system. These feeds are based on the keywords that have been set up on the system and will bring in all mentions picked up and associated to this keyword. These mentions have not been filtered for irrelevance but are immediate and you will pick up all activity around your selected keywords. This User would utilise this option when they are most interested in tracking “talk” on a real-time basis.
#Please be aware of our disclaimer here.
Filtered Results mention feeds:
This RSS feed comes from the Results section of our system. The mentions that you receive via this feed have been filtered for full brand relevance and sentimented to obtain a brand value and reputation score. These feeds are not necessarily real-time as will only appear once the account analyst has sorted the mention from the Raw Hits through to the Results and it is a qualified brand result. The User would elect to utilise this option when they are more interested in the reputation trend of the Brand and associated strategic position.
#Disclaimer: Please note and be aware, by selecting the “Real-time Raw Hits” feed option, the mentions picked up in this RSS feed does not exclude mentions that are not relevant. The string is based on the tracking of the keyword. Ongoing and enhanced keyword filtering will improve the quality of the feed however, the user will receive mentions that are not relevant to the Brand.
